Mister Finch

I have just found out about this delightful creator Mister Finch. I have never been that big on sewing but seeing these enthralling textural creatures made from scraps of textiles I am hugely inspired! Made me think one day I would like to pick up the needle and thread.

I wish the postal strike would end as I want to order his book online...Living in a Fairy Tale World...

Halloween being just around the corner, here are some Halloween creature features.

Baardskeerdersbos Art Route 2014

October 2014

April 2014

For the April Art Route I decided to hang some of my works in the horse ring...landscapes of the surrounding Overberg, horses, chickens, cows and old farm buildings...

And then inside The Stables Studio was filled colour, bright oil paintings, wool paintings and papier mache fish and owls.....

Twa Corbies

    Two Birds on A Hill                                     Amanda Jephson, Oil Painting on Board

Twa Corbies
As I was walking all alane,
I heard twa corbies making a mane;
The tane unto the t'other say,
‘Where sall we gang and dine to-day?’
‘In behint yon auld fail dyke,
I wot there lies a new slain knight;
And naebody kens that he lies there,
But his hawk, his hound, and lady fair.
‘His hound is to the hunting gane,
His hawk to fetch the wild-fowl hame,
His lady's ta'en another mate,
So we may mak our dinner sweet.
‘Ye'll sit on his white hause-bane,
And I'll pike out his bonny blue een;
Wi ae lock o his gowden  hair
We'll theek our nest when it grows bare.
‘Mony a one for him makes mane,
But nane sall ken where he is gane
Oer  his white banes, when they are bare,
The wind sall blaw for evermair.
